Over 10,000 wooden beds were supplied to the furniture market by workshops in Yen Lac woodworking village in 2023.

Yen Lac woodworking village has long been renowned as one of the leading centers for high-quality handcrafted wooden furniture, with a history spanning hundreds of years. The village’s products not only meet domestic demand but have also gained recognition in international markets thanks to their exquisite craftsmanship, durability, and aesthetic appeal. To create a fully finished wooden bed, artisans here must go through numerous meticulous production stages, requiring a combination of long-standing experience and modern techniques.

Stage 1: Cutting and shaping the wood

In this stage, the carpenters select the appropriate type of wood based on the required properties, such as hardness, grain pattern, and appearance. Large logs are then cut into smaller pieces and shaped according to precise measurements to meet specific needs. After cutting, the wood is dried thoroughly.

Stage 2: Preparation After drying, craftsmen collect and classify wood, then use clamp and 502 to glue the initial mold. Through precise measurements, a cutting machine is employed to trim the board to the exact dimensions. A planer is used to smooth out any uneven edges, ensuring the surface is ready for intricate pattern carving. Next, we take measurements for the legs based on the provided template, preparing them for the carving of holes.

Stage 3: Carving At this stage, the CNC machines wil involve in helping carpenters carving the sanded logs. Before carving by this machine, the carpenters need to program the machine based on the product they intend to create. The amount of time the CNC machine carves is based on the features of the intended product.

Stage 4: Final touches

In the final step, attention shifts to perfecting the product's look and durability. It begins with a base coat to smooth out the surface and hide small imperfections. Once it dries, the surface is gently sanded to create a silky texture and help the next layers stick better.

Then comes the color, sprayed in two layers to achieve even, vibrant tones. Finally, a glossy coat adds shine and protection, giving the product a polished and long-lasting finish.
