Xuân Nghi has become one of the most talked-about “Chị Đẹp” stars, captivating audiences with a striking transformation compared to her time as a child star.
On the evening of October 26, the first episode of Chị Đẹp Đạp Gió aired, introducing 30 remarkable women from various professions and age groups.
During the reunion segment, the surprise return of Thu Phương and Mỹ Linh left the contestants in awe. These two divas have taken on the role of mentors to guide the younger participants and compete against each other in the initial stage of the show.
With the new format of the gameshow, the number of “Chị Đẹp” contestants making their debut depends on the performance of Thu Phương and Mỹ Linh. Both artists expressed some anxiety over this change. However, their competitive spirit has excited audiences, who eagerly anticipate the upcoming battles.
“In real life, we are friends, but when we step on stage, we have a responsibility to the audience and to ourselves. So, I’ll do my very best,” shared Mỹ Linh.
The appearances of the remaining 28 contestants also captured the audience's attention. Tóc Tiên’s unexpected reveal surprised the "Chị Đẹp" lineup during the reunion, as there had been no prior announcement about her participation.
Minh Hằng described Tóc Tiên as a "mystery factor" and wondered if she had agreed to join at the last minute, given her surprise entrance.
Meanwhile, actress Đồng Ánh Quỳnh was “angry to the point of tears” because her close friend Tóc Tiên had repeatedly insisted she wouldn’t be competing in Chị Đẹp Đạp Gió. In fact, on the morning of the first episode’s filming, Tóc Tiên even sent a makeup-free selfie wishing Đồng Ánh Quỳnh good luck for the competition.
Speaking about her reason for joining the show, Tóc Tiên shared that she has lost her passion after 21 years in the industry.
“I want to be honest—I’ve lost my spark for the profession. Over the past two years, I’ve felt that music has left me behind. When I perform on stage, I give it my all, but that glimmer in my eyes is gone. I want to find that feeling again,” Tóc Tiên tearfully admitted backstage.
Another "Chị Đẹp" who drew attention in the first episode was “little” Xuân Nghi, a once-famous child singer.
Many viewers were surprised to see how much Xuân Nghi has changed, with a completely new appearance and style. She shared that through the show, she hopes people will see her as “sister Xuân Nghi” rather than the little girl from years past.
“People still remember me as ‘little Xuân Nghi’—which is a blessing but also a pressure,” Xuân Nghi confessed.
After introducing the 28 “Chị Đẹp” contestants, the show announced the 9 provisional team captains, chosen by vote prior to the competition. These captains include Thu Ngọc, Mie, Tuimi, Hoàng Yến Chibi, Đồng Ánh Quỳnh, Ngọc Phước, Phạm Quỳnh Anh, Kiều Anh, and Tóc Tiên.
The provisional captains will be the first to perform solo on stage. In addition to these 9 performances, the show also presented special performances by Thiều Bảo Trâm, Ái Phương, Bùi Lan Hương, Ngọc Ánh, Maitinhvi, and Ngọc Thanh Tâm, offering the audience a vibrant display of talent.
The performances took place in a studio without a live audience, where each artist faced her first challenge, showcasing her charm and talents to captivate the other “Chị Đẹp” contestants. The female artists evaluated one another, awarding the “Wind-Riding Flower” to those they deemed most deserving.
Following Episode 1, based on the contestants' votes, three of the provisional captains officially became team captains: Ngọc Phước, Kiều Anh, and Tóc Tiên.
